Claude Code OAuth login does not complete in WSL2, SSH sessions or containers
Signing in to Claude Code from WSL2, a remote machine over SSH, or a container appears to hang: the browser opens on a different host, so its redirect cannot reach Claude Code's local callback server. In WSL2 the browser may not open at all.

After signing in, the browser shows a login code instead of redirecting; paste it at the `Paste code here if prompted` prompt. If the browser does not open from WSL2, point `BROWSER` at a Windows browser:
```bash
export BROWSER="/mnt/c/Program Files/Google/Chrome/Application/chrome.exe"
claude
```
Or press `c` at the login prompt to copy the OAuth URL and open it on your local machine. If pasting into the interactive prompt does nothing, use `claude auth login`, which reads the code from standard input.
