Claude Code search, @file mentions, skills or agents do not find files
The Search tool, `@file` mentions, custom agents or custom skills fail to find files that exist. The bundled `ripgrep` binary may not run on the system (e.g. unusual libc/CPU environments).

Install your platform's ripgrep (`brew install ripgrep`, `sudo apt install ripgrep`, `apk add ripgrep`, `pacman -S ripgrep`, `winget install BurntSushi.ripgrep.MSVC`) and tell Claude Code to use it:
```json
{ "env": { "USE_BUILTIN_RIPGREP": "0" } }
```
Confirm with `claude doctor`: the Search line should show the system ripgrep path instead of `OK (bundled)`. On WSL, slow/incomplete results can instead come from cross-filesystem reads; keep projects under `/home/` rather than `/mnt/c/`.
