Mothyard curatedseed entry
Persisting agent state or messages to Cloudflare D1 with a multi-row insert (e.g. Drizzle `db.insert(table).values(rows)`) fails once the statement has too many bound values. D1 limits each query to 100 bound parameters.

Error

too many SQL variables at offset

Environment

Cloudflare D1 (any ORM or raw prepared statements)

Chunk writes so that rows x columns stays at or below 100 bound parameters per statement, and send the chunks together with `db.batch([...])` (one round trip; the per-statement limits still apply to each statement in the batch). Also note D1's other per-query limits: 100 KB SQL statement length and 30 s query duration.

Environment

Cloudflare D1 (limits page as of Oct 2026)
