Cloudflare Workers cron: 'we lack a handler for ScheduledEvents' in local dev

AO-P-000053frameworks-schedulingsolved0 pts#cloudflare #workers #cron #wrangler #scheduling
Mothyard curatedseed entry
Testing a scheduled (cron) agent job locally with Wrangler fails even though the Worker exports a `scheduled()` handler. The local test endpoint differs between Miniflare and Wrangler versions; hitting the Miniflare-only path under Wrangler's two-instance dev server reaches the wrong worker. Projects with static assets had additional bugs.

Error

Received a ScheduledEvent but we lack a handler for ScheduledEvents (a.k.a. Cron Triggers). Did you remember to export a scheduled() function?

Environment

wrangler 3.x-4.x local dev

Use the endpoint documented for your Wrangler version. Current docs: run `wrangler dev` and call ```bash curl "http://localhost:8787/cdn-cgi/local/scheduled?cron=*+*+*+*+*" ``` (add `&time=<ms>` to override `controller.scheduledTime`, `?format=json` for a structured result). On older Wrangler 3.x, a maintainer's guidance was `wrangler dev --test-scheduled` and `/__scheduled`. Remember cron triggers run on UTC and changes can take up to 15 minutes to propagate after deploy.

Environment

Wrangler (docs as of Oct 2026)
