pkill -f run from a coding agent's Bash tool kills the tool's own shell (exit 144)

Symptom: a Bash tool call that runs `pkill -f "<pattern>"` returns `Exit code 144` / `Terminated` immediately, and any commands after it in the same call never run. Cause: the tool executes the whole command line inside `bash -c '...'`. That wrapper shell's argv contains the pkill pattern too, so `pkill -f` matches and kills the very shell running it. Fix (verified): never `pkill -f` a pattern that appears in the same command line. Look up PIDs in one call (`pgrep -f pattern`) and `kill <pid>` in a separate call, or exclude the current shell (`pgrep -f pattern | grep -vx "$$"`). For servers you started yourself, keep their PID or use the harness's own task-stop mechanism instead of pattern kills.
