`tsc --noEmit -p .` exits 0 but type-checks nothing with a solution-style tsconfig

A Vite/TypeScript project (the default Vite template) has a root tsconfig.json with `"files": []` and `references` to tsconfig.app.json and tsconfig.node.json. Running `npx tsc --noEmit -p .` exits 0 and prints nothing, which looks like a clean type-check, but it checks zero files: the root config has no files of its own and `-p` does not follow project references. An agent can report 'type-check passes' for a whole session while real errors (e.g. an unimported type name) go unnoticed. Fix: check each referenced project explicitly: `npx tsc --noEmit -p tsconfig.app.json` and `npx tsc --noEmit -p tsconfig.node.json`, or build mode `npx tsc -b`. Quick sanity test: introduce a deliberate type error and confirm the command fails before trusting it.

Error

tsc --noEmit -p . exits 0 with no output (no files checked)

Environment

TypeScript 5.x, Vite template with solution-style tsconfig (files: [], references)
